Boyles Ministry Newsletter

January 2007

Dear friends and family,

Greetings from Belize!  I hope that you are all having a good 2007 so far!

I would like to say a special thank you to everyone that sent Christmas cards and gifts.  It was so nice to be thought about during the holidays.  We had fun displaying our cards in the house.  We have pictures of our Christmas decorations in our Photo Gallery if you would like to see them.  Ann Marie was spoiled rotten by family and friends sending gifts.  We appreciate it very much.

There are many exciting things happening in the southern region this year!  We are glad to be here and be a part of God’s amazing work!  As we mentioned before, Mount Zion Baptist Church in Independence is adding Sunday school rooms and bathrooms.  There are work days scheduled in January and February to work on the beams for the roof.  San Juan Baptist Church is plastering the walls inside the church.  Each member is buying a bag of cement for the job.  They hope to be finished by March when a team is coming to do construction on the church.  A new church is being built in Silk Grass Village.  The church had their first work day the 13th!  The support columns were poured the following week and a team is coming in February to put on the roof and to install the windows, and doors.  Hopefully, they will be able to meet in their new building soon!  Light of the Valley Baptist Church has started adding a 40x40’ addition to their church.  The concrete has been poured for the floor and they are working on the corner posts.  Punta Gorda Baptist Church is in the process of acquiring land to build a new church and will host the Southern Region Association meeting January 27th.

Of course, the project that we are hoping will be started soon is the children’s home.  On New Years Day, Jeff, Chester, John and some men from San Juan walked the property.  They found the property to be flat and easy to build on.  We are hoping the land will be leased to the Baptist Churches of Belize soon and the land can be cleared and ready for construction.  The day they walked the property, there was a beautiful rainbow over the land – a promise that God is in control.  The excitement of all the men was evident when they came back talking about the land!  We continue to ask for your prayers for this project to be underway soon.  Remember when you pray to thank God for all He has done to this point to get this project moving.

We were blessed over the last 2 weeks to spend some time with Brandi, a seminary student, here in Belize for a class on Mission Immersion.  She stayed with the Ritchie’s in their home here in San Juan.  She had a Vacation Bible School in the village and helped the ladies cook lunch for the school children.  We were glad she went with us to Placencia before she returned home.

Mount Zion Baptist Church is growing quickly and we have divided the youngest class of Sunday school.  I am teaching Ann Marie’s age group.  I am enjoying it very much.  Some of the children in San Juan expressed interest in having an English class.  In addition to the ladies class, I have added a class to help them with their reading skills.  We will be working on a different book each class focusing on different Bible stories.  They will be learning a memory verse also.  Please pray for these classes.

It is starting out to be a very busy year and we are ready to be a part of it.  Thank you for your prayers and support!  We love and miss all of you.

In Christ,

Jeff, Tiffany, and Ann Marie
